Kelly and Paul in Lakeland

We had the pleasure of coordinating the wedding of Kelly and Paul in Lakeland on October 11th. The reception was at the beautiful Club at Eaglebrooke which had large windows overlooking a picturesque lake and golf course. The flowers were by Dana Dineen who we always enjoy working with, and the DJ was Ray Myers who did a great job of getting everybody out on the dance floor. We worked with Lorelei of Photos by Lorelei for the first time and as you can see in the photos, she is a very talented photographer. Thank you Lorelei for sharing these wonderful images with us!

Another great vendor at this wedding was The Cookie Jar. Kelly and Paul's decadent chocolate cake smelled just as amazing as it looked. As we were decorating the cake table, we could not help but drool a little (not on the cake though, don't worry!!). Congratulations Kelly and Paul, we hope you have a beautiful life together.

Summer Wedding Recap: Danielle and George at the Sandpearl

Well since the new blog wasn't started until September, we missed out on sharing several wonderful summer weddings that Beth coordinated. So I'm going to backtrack a bit and post some photos because they are just too beautiful not to post about.
Here is Danielle and George's wedding from June which took place at the new Sandpearl Resort on Clearwater Beach. Limelight photographed and as you can see, they did an amazing job and we are thankful they were willing to let us borrow some of their gorgeous photos. Enjoy!

Should I Make a Wedding Website?

One of the current technology-related trends in wedding planning is creating a wedding website for your guests. There is a lot of great and helpful information you can include on your site -- travel accommodations, locations and times of wedding events, attire recommendations, registry info, etc. Another way of doing this would be to add additional cards in with your invitations, but in this ever increasing "go green" world, a website can save a few more trees while making info easily accessible to your guests. And the best part is, some wedding websites are FREE! Here are a few:
www.mywedding.com
www.ewedding.com
www.momentville.com
www.weddingwire.com
And the wedding websites of Theknot.com and WeddingChannel.com also have free websites after you sign up with a username and password.
Don't forget to send an email out to all of your guests, or include it on your save-the-dates, so that everyone will know where to find your wedding website!

Fabulous favor ideas...

Need some ideas for unique and fun favors to send home with your guests? Here are some ideas!
Bamboo is supposed to be lucky.. Thairific Orchids in St. Pete is a lovely family-owned flower and plant shop where you can order bulk lucky bamboo stems for around $1-2 each. www.thairificorchids.com

Murielle Winery in Clearwater specializes in wedding favors with their delicious bottles of wine and their personalized wine bottle labels. A pack of 24 bottles will run you about $75. To save some money in your budget, consider doing 1 favor per couple. Also check out Total Wine and More (several locations in the Tampa Bay area). They will order cases of mini-bottles of some of your favorite wines.

Do you or someone in your family have a special cookie recipe? Share it with your family and friends by making your own cookie favors. This is a great way to make your wedding favors personal, and on the bag of your favor tag you can even include the recipe for others to enjoy! (photo borrowed from the Knot.com galleries).

Making your own chocolates is another great favor idea. With so many molds available to choose from, you can easily find something to match your theme or interests. This mold from confectionaryhouse.com is less than $3.00 and has a variety of seashell shapes to make for your beach wedding. Bag it in a cute cellophane pouch and tie with some raffia ribbon and you've got a great favor for a very reasonable price.

Share some of your favorite songs with your wedding guests by making personalized cd's. This is another very cost effective way to send your guests home with something memorable from your wedding day. (photo from theknot.com)

Tampa Bay Bridal Show!

Today Beth and I represented Flawless Occasions at the Tampa Bay Bridal Show at the Coliseum in downtown St. Pete. We shared a booth with Dana Dineen, a florist who we have worked with at some recent weddings. We also got to see some other great vendors like Life Long Studios Photography, Stephen Doehring Photography, Thairific Orchids, Delectables Catering, Isla Del Sol County Club, Holiday Inn Harbourside and Clearwater Beach, and Orange Blossom Catering-- among many others. Oh yeah, and we both had a big delicious piece of Publix wedding cake...yep, it was a rough day. Anyway, it was great to connect with other local wedding professionals and we got to meet a lot of brides too! Here are a few pictures from our day at the bridal show, enjoy!!

Ivyia and Wayne's Garden Wedding

Ivyia and Wayne were married on Sept. 27th so we're a little late on the post, but better late than never, right? The wedding was at the USF botanical gardens and the reception was at Traditions Hall in the USF Alumni center. They had a beautifully sunny (but hot) day. Thanks for letting Flawless Occasions share in your special day, we wish you both the best in your new marriage!
Their talented photographer, Mandy Austin out of Orlando, was kind enough to share some photos with us, so enjoy! And check out Mandy's website at www.mandyaustin.com.
